Born and raised in Northwest Indiana.
Moved to Seymour, IN in 2010.
I have always loved dogs and had a special connection and ability to understand them.
I graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2008 as a Certified Dog Trainer, which began my Professional Dog Training Career.
At a young age, I realized how important having a trained dog can be. Having a dog without manners is stressful and embarrassing for a family. Far too often, it decides whether or not a dog ends up being rehomed or at a shelter/rescue.
I believe if training can help a dog stay in their home then it's always worth it. Training is an investment we make in our dogs, just like buying dog food, toys, a bed, and seeking vet care. Learning how to maintain your dog’s behaviors makes life with your dog much more fun and relaxing. Sometimes you just need to see things from their point of view. Having a good understanding of their body language and behaviors can make training a
family dog much easier!
Dogs are important members of our family, and having a well-trained dog, makes not only the family happy, but the dog as well. Dogs have a special way of capturing our hearts. However unwanted behaviors can be embarrassing and not knowing how to change those behaviors becomes frustrating. With some training techniques, professional guidance, patience and love those behaviors can be changed!
My training programs are custom designed for your family's needs and training goals.
I teach owners how to be firm and effective dog handlers without being physically harmful. I take things into consideration, such as life at home, breed, family's relationship with the dog, other household pets, family work schedule, and more. All these things play a role in how the dog perceives its position in the home and how it can affect their behavior.
Training equipment & tools are recommended on a case by case basis but are not required. A few examples are, front clip harness, martingale collar or prong collar.
